Charli XCX releases haunting new single "Chains Of Love" from 'Wuthering Heights' soundtrack

Charli XCX has released a gothic new track titled "Chains Of Love," which is part of the upcoming film adaptation of Wuthering Heights directed by Emerald Fennell. This song follows her previously released track "House," where she collaborated with John Cale of The Velvet Underground to create an eerie, cinematic sound.

The new track maintains a spooky vibe, starting with a swirling melody and gradually building to an euphoric chorus. Charli's album, which includes these songs, is set to be released on February 13.

In recent comments, Charli expressed that she has been more inspired by film than music lately. Following the success of her breakthrough album Brat, she felt creatively drained and eager to explore new ideas. “By the end of ‘Brat,’ I felt like I was squeezing blood from a stone, trying to get every last drop of life out of ideas I had been working on for years,” she explained. However, she remains proud of the album and is excited to move forward.

Later in the year, Charli will also appear in the drama film The Moment, a project based on an original idea of hers, directed by Aidan Zamiri. This film marks the first co-production from her company, studio365. The album is currently available for pre-order.
