Will Smith's first album in 20 years: 'Based On A True Story' drops March 28
Will Smith has announced the release date and tracklist for his upcoming album, Based On A True Story. This marks his first full-length project in 20 years, following his 2005 LP Lost And Found.
In a post on his official Instagram account on March 17, Smith revealed that the album will drop on March 28.
In his post, he expressed excitement about the release, saying, “It’s OFFICIAL!! My new album Based On A True Story drops March 28".
The post included the album's cover art, which features Smith wearing a red Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap and jacket, paired with a white t-shirt, sneakers, and baggy jeans. Fans are eagerly anticipating this return to music from the multi-talented artist.

The tracklist is comprised of 14 songs, each referred to as an episode, and will feature his previously released singles ‘Beautiful Scars‘, ‘You Can Make It’, ‘Work Of Art’ featuring his son Jaden and Russ and ‘Tantrum’ with Joyner Lucas. Other artists who Smith has collaborated with on the LP include the likes of Teyana Taylor and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
