Chappell Roan teases release of country-inspired single 'The Giver'
Chappell Roan has been teasing her upcoming country-inspired single, "The Giver," set for release on March 13.
In a series of TikTok posts alongside her creative director, Ramisha Sattar, she showcases her excitement for the track, which features a country-tinged sound.
Roan first introduced "The Giver" during her appearance on Saturday Night Live last November, where she made a statement that resonated with fans, dubbing the song a “lesbian anthem.”
Her producer, Dan Nigro, described it as a “fun, up-tempo country song” featuring a fiddle, promising to reveal a new side of the artist known for her previous work on Good Luck, Babe!
To build anticipation, Roan has also offered vinyl pre-orders for two variants of the single: the "Plumber edition" and the "Lawyer edition," with themed styling.
These vinyls are expected to ship in August.
In her Instagram posts, Roan has embraced various personas, including “The Dentist,” and expressed her deep connection to country music, reminiscing about her childhood experiences with the genre.
She clarified that while she enjoys creating country music, it does not necessarily mean her upcoming sophomore album will be exclusively country.
She stated, “I’m just making songs that make me feel happy and fun,” highlighting her unique take on the genre.
Her announcement comes on the heels of a memorable performance at Elton John’s Oscars viewing party, where she duetted with him on "Pink Pony Club" and performed several other songs.
Roan has also been vocal about supporting marginalized communities, dedicating her BRIT Award win to trans artists and other groups during her acceptance speech.
Roan's rise to fame has been meteoric, marked by a UK Number One album, a Best New Artist win at the MTV VMAs, and multiple Grammy nominations.
She has also been confirmed as a headliner for major festivals like Reading & Leeds and Primavera Sound, and was recently named the winner of BBC Radio 1’s Sound Of 2025.
