The song "February Sky," which is being released today, will be featured on Ringo Starr's upcoming EP, "Crooked Boy," which was produced by Linda Perry

Ringo Starr has released a new single, "February Sky," accompanied by a visualizer featuring unseen clips from the musician's archives. This song is the first excerpt from his upcoming solo EP, "Crooked Boy," which will be released on limited edition marbled vinyl on April 20, for Record Store Day.

The EP was written and produced by Linda Perry for Starr, who added vocals and played drums on the tracks. Linda Perry offered the former Beatles member to produce the EP after working with him on two previous songs, "Coming Undone" from his "Change the World" and "Everyone and Everything" from "EP3."

Starr explained in a statement that Linda had made him an excellent EP that she produced in her own studio and then sent him the tracks, to which the ex-Beatle added drums and his voice. "February Sky is great, albeit very gloomy," confessed Ringo Starr, but he added that since Linda wrote it specifically for him, it must of course have a positive element of peace and love.

Fans will be able to listen to "Crooked Boy" in advance at Amoeba Music Hollywood this Thursday, April 18, RollingStone magazine reports. The record store will sell an exclusive single on red vinyl during the event.

Note that Ringo Starr will be touring North America with his All Starr Band in the spring, including a series of concerts at The Venetian in Las Vegas. Additional tour dates for the fall will be announced later.

Starr had said he was happiest when playing with great musicians when he announced the tour last year. But despite everything, at some point during or after each tour, he says to himself, "OK, it's over, I'm going to stop touring," adding that his family no longer believes him, so it comes as no surprise that they learned once again that he was hitting the road with the All Starr Band.
