David Bowie: release of a huge box set "Rock 'n' Roll Star!" on the Ziggy Stardust era

David Bowie's new 5-CD/Blu-Ray box set "Rock 'n' Roll Star!" on the Ziggy Stardust era contains, among other things, many unreleased tracks as well as many television appearances.

In fact, it is mainly David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust era that will be highlighted in this new box set, which is set to be released on June 14th on Parlophone Records.

This 5-CD and Blu-Ray box set chronicles the creation of the Ziggy Stardust character, the release of "The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars" in 1972, as well as the numerous radio sessions and television appearances in the UK in which David Bowie's famous alter ego participated at that time.

The collection includes, among other things, 29 unreleased tracks, from demos to outtakes to live performances. It also includes a cover of The Who's "I Can’t Explain" (which he would release a year later on Pin Ups), the rarity "Shadow Man," and much more.

The Box Set even includes a stripped-down acoustic version of "Ziggy Stardust (Demo)," which David Bowie recorded at Haddon Hall in Beckenham, England, in March 1971.

David Bowie's "Rock 'n' Roll Star!" box set also contains some recordings of iconic concerts from the Ziggy Stardust era, including the 1972 concert at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and the 1972 concert at the Rainbow Theatre.

Fans will find also in it, several rare interviews and alternative takes of well-known Bowie songs, offering fans a unique insight into his creative process and the evolution of his art during this revolutionary period of his career.

In addition to the Blu-Ray audio, the collection is complemented by two books: a reproduction of Bowie's notebooks from the era and a 112-page book containing notes, photographs, and more.
