Jennifer Lopez releases a poster for her new science fiction film "Atlas" on Netflix

After teasing the audience by releasing a poster for her new film titled "Atlas" (in which she stars alongside Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Abraham Popoola, and Mark Strong), Jennifer Lopez released today on social media the second trailer for the upcoming science fiction film on Netflix on May 24th.

Lopez shared the video on her Instagram account and wrote, "Coming to you this weekend in honor of Memorial Day... ATLAS will premiere on @Netflix on May 24th."

In the film, Jennifer Lopez plays a character who represents humanity's last hope against a robot that has decided to end humanity to stop the wars, only to find herself forced to cooperate with the one thing she fears most in her life to save the world.

Director Brad Peyton, known for films like "San Andreas" and "Rampage," said that working with Jennifer Lopez was a dream come true for him, describing her as possessing the strength and determination that made her a great addition to the project.

The highly anticipated film Atlas comes as part of the agreement between Jennifer Lopez and Netflix, signed earlier, which stipulates that the American singer will provide the global platform with a large list of films, series, and entertainment content.

Netflix previously announced Lopez's contribution to two projects on its platform, "The Mother" directed by Niki Caro, that revolved around a mother accused of murder who emerges from hiding to teach her daughter how to survive.

As for the film "The Cipher" based on the novel of the same name, it focuses on an FBI agent named "Nina Guerrera" who tracks a serial killer online. It was expected to be released on the platform in late 2023, but unfortunately that did not happen, without Netflix revealing the reasons.
