Margot Robbie will produce a movie about the Monopoly game

Margot Robbie is preparing to produce a film inspired by the world of Monopoly. After a busy 2023, marked by the success of Barbie, her appearance in Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City," and her production of "Saltburn," actress Margot Robbie will produce a live-action film inspired by the famous board game Monopoly.

It is not yet known if Margot Robbie will act in this film, of which she is a producer with her company LuckyChap. It should be noted that the company Hasbro, which publishes the Monopoly game, will also produce the project.

At the moment, however, it is difficult to know what this feature film will be about, as Monopoly does not really have a story, since each player simply aims to be the first to ruin their opponents by buying properties and land.

It is worth noting that Monopoly, a true staple of board games, is the most popular game in the world with over half a billion copies sold in more than 100 countries since its first commercialization in 1935.

It should be noted that Margot Robbie is not the first to attempt to adapt this famous game to the screen. Indeed, in 2015, two film projects centered around Monopoly were announced by Hasbro but these ultimately never materialized.

Director Ridley Scott, actor Kevin Hart, director and producer Tim Story had also been rumored to work on an adaptation that was also aborted.

After a busy 2023, marked by the success of Barbie, her appearance in Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City" and "Saltburn" which she produced, Margot Robbie announced that she would also produce a live-action adaptation of the famous video game "The Sims".

This project, the plot of which is unknown, will be directed by Kate Herron, praised for her work on the first season of the Marvel series Loki.
