Arab designers including Saiid Kobeisy, Elie Saab and Mousa Al Awfi illuminate Cannes' red carpet on opening night
The opening night of the Cannes Film Festival saw a captivating display of fashion on the red carpet, featuring stunning creations by Arab designers.
Model and TV personality Heidi Klum made a statement in a vibrant red ensemble crafted by Lebanese designer Saiid Kobeisy.
Kobeisy, known for his enchanting and whimsical style, has previously dressed influential figures such as Queen Rania of Jordan and Jennifer Lopez.
Hw has boutiques in both Beirut and Dubai.
Another attendee donning a red outfit was Australian model Shanina Shaik. She stunned in an off-shoulder Zuhair Murad gown featuring a dramatic over skirt from the designer's ready-to-wear autumn 2024 collection.
The red carpet was also graced by the ever-present Elie Saab, but this time his fashion magic was channeled through the iconic Jane Fonda.
Bedecked in a V-neck jumpsuit adorned with floral applique and dazzling beading, Fonda was the epitome of grace. Her silver locks and bold red lips perfectly complemented Saab's creation.
Saab's artistic touch extended to Chinese actress and singer Guan Xiaotong, who shimmered in a mesmerizing pink gown from his spring/summer 2008 haute couture collection. The gown added an extra dose of glamour to the star-studded affair.
And shimmering in silver and gold on the red carpet, Egyptian actress Youssra made quite the entrance in a custom gown designed by Lebanon’s own Tony Ward.
Dubai Bling star Farhana Bodi, a Cannes regular, also attended the opening night, wearing a custom gown by UAE label Atelier Zuhra.
Founded by Omani designer Mousa Al Awfi, the brand is named after Al Awfi's mother, and is known for its opulent gowns.
Meanwhile, dressed in a custom black kaftan gown with feathered borders, Saudi internet personality and entrepreneur Yara Alnamlah proved that basic does not in any way, shape, or form, mean boring.
