Apple iOS 18.4 Release Date: Major iPhone Update Approaches
The highly anticipated iOS 18.4 update for Apple iPhones is just hours away, featuring exciting new Apple Intelligence capabilities. While there are no major advancements for Siri, the update introduces fresh emojis and a new app for Vision Pro. Originally expected later, the release appears to be arriving a week ahead of schedule.
According to a recent report by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg in his Power On newsletter, the latest beta versions of iOS 18.4, along with updates for iPad, Vision Pro, Apple TV, Mac, and Apple Watch, are now available. These versions are considered release candidates, indicating they are nearly ready for public use. Gurman notes that while there are minimal visible changes from previous beta iterations, these updates mark significant improvements over earlier public releases.
Some key features set to debut in iOS 18.4 include the ability to prioritize notifications on the lock screen and a new food section in Apple News+. Additionally, Apple Intelligence will expand support to several new languages, enhancing accessibility. The Mac and iPad will also receive Apple Intelligence enhancements for the Mail app, previously available on the iPhone 16 series, according to Forbes magazine.
Although Gurman did not specify an exact release date, his focus on iOS 18.4 suggests it could be available before his next newsletter arrives in a week.

While many users await a revamped Siri, there are numerous other features to explore. The priority notifications will help users manage important alerts more effectively. New release notes indicate a fresh style in the Image Playground called Sketch, complementing existing Animation and Illustration styles.
Apple Intelligence will now support eight additional languages, including French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, along with English for users in India and Singapore. This feature remains exclusive to the iPhone 16 models, including the iPhone 16e and the iPhone 15 Pro series.

For Apple Vision Pro users, the iPhone will automatically download a new app designed to help discover content and access information about the headset. The Photos app is also receiving updates, including new sorting options and filters for the Library view.
In Apple News+, a focus on food will introduce recipes and stories about restaurants, enhancing the overall experience for subscribers. Other improvements include enhanced search suggestions in Safari, streamlined Child Account setups, and the ability to pause app downloads in the App Store.
