Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Announced — Welcome to 2035
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 is officially on the way, and it's shaping up to be the most mind-bending entry yet. Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, this next installment continues the Black Ops legacy directly from Black Ops 6 — a first for the franchise — and leaps ahead to the year 2035.
Set in a world reeling from decades of warfare, including the fallout from Black Ops 2 and 6, the game plunges players into a future where fear itself is weaponized. David Mason returns with his team, battling a cunning new adversary who uses psychological manipulation to destabilize a fragile global order, according to Call of Duty News.
Matt Cox, GM of Call of Duty, highlighted the ambition behind this bold continuation: “From day one, we aimed to create a seamless Black Ops experience. The universe is rich with stories, intense gameplay, and unforgettable characters. Black Ops 7 is our next step in delivering that, back-to-back.”
The game promises a full slate of features: an innovative co-op campaign where players can join friends or go solo, adrenaline-fueled multiplayer with all-new near-future weapons and maps, and the next chilling chapter of Round-Based Zombies set deep in the Dark Aether storyline.
While a full reveal is coming later this summer, today marks the first major step with the launch of the Official Teaser Cinematic. Tyler Bahl, Head of Activision Publishing Marketing, spoke about what this means: “We’re building on the momentum from Black Ops 6 and delivering what fans want — more depth, more madness, and more time in the Black Ops universe.”
This teaser hints at what’s ahead — a deeper, darker dive into paranoia, conflict, and advanced warfare. Shifting from the 1990s to a future on the edge, the marketing campaign will unfold with Easter eggs, hidden messages, and all the cryptic storytelling the series is known for.
With its futuristic setting and intense narrative, Black Ops 7 is set to redefine what players expect from the franchise. The countdown to reveal has begun — and the madness is just getting started.
