AirPods Pro 3: Apple’s Most Advanced Earbuds Yet
Apple has unveiled the AirPods Pro 3, introducing major upgrades that could make them the best AirPods yet. The new model promises improved audio, stronger active noise cancellation, and innovative features designed for fitness and travel, according to Tom's Guide.
Noise cancellation has received a significant boost. Apple claims the AirPods Pro 3 deliver twice the ANC performance of the previous generation and four times that of the original AirPods Pro. According to Apple, users of the first-generation model will notice a dramatic difference, with the company even calling them “the best ANC earbuds you can buy.”
Sound quality has also been enhanced. A redesigned internal architecture improves bass response, a feature where previous AirPods sometimes fell short. The overall soundstage has been widened, instrument separation has been refined, and voice clarity during calls is improved. Transparency mode now allows users to hear their own voice more naturally.
The earbuds also bring a new focus on fitness. A built-in photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor tracks health metrics, meaning you can monitor workouts without relying on an Apple Watch. Apple’s new “Workout Buddy” feature, powered by Apple Intelligence, provides personalized coaching and motivational insights during exercise. The AirPods Pro 3 also come with IP57 water resistance, making them resistant to sweat, rain, and accidental splashes—a welcome addition for active users.
Fit and comfort have been upgraded through a complete redesign. Each earbud is smaller, and the eartips have been aligned with the body’s center for greater stability. Foam-infused tips ensure a secure, comfortable fit even during vigorous activity.
One of the standout features is Live Translation. The AirPods Pro 3 can translate conversations in real time, helping users communicate with people who speak different languages. If the other person has AirPods Pro 3, both parties can converse seamlessly with translation handled by the earbuds. For others, translations appear on the connected iPhone, making travel and multilingual interactions much easier.
Battery life has improved to 8 hours with ANC enabled, up from 6 hours on the previous generation. Despite the upgrades, the AirPods Pro 3 maintain the $249 starting price.
