Snoop Dogg pushes Publicis to the top and helps it claim the world's largest ad group title
France's Publicis has enlisted Snoop Dogg to celebrate its achievement of surpassing British rival WPP as the world's largest advertising group in 2024, reported Reuters.
Snoop Dogg, who became a prominent figure during the Paris Olympics as a special correspondent for NBC, was seen participating in various events, from carrying the Olympic torch to cheering on athletes.
In Publicis's annual video message titled "The Wishes," Chairman and CEO Arthur Sadoun highlighted Snoop's role in helping the company prepare for its future.
Snoop Dogg remarked humorously, "That's right - what's Publicis holding? I don't know - but what I do know is that Americans, Brits, and French have been competing to see which holding company is the top dog. And this year, Publicis has overtaken them all. Les Numeros One."
Publicis has gained market share this year, contrasting with its peers, who are experiencing sluggish growth.
The company, which owns agencies like Leo Burnett and Saatchi & Saatchi, has outpaced major competitors WPP, Interpublic, and Omnicom, thanks in part to the targeted advertising capabilities of its Epsilon Unit, which utilizes extensive consumer behavior data.
For the first nine months of 2024, Publicis reported net revenue of €10.11 billion. In comparison, WPP, which held the top position for decades, reported equivalent revenue of £8.36 billion (approximately €10.08 billion) less pass-through costs.
Analysts predict that Publicis will reach €13.9 billion in total revenue for the year, while WPP is expected to report £11.4 billion (around €13.7 billion) in revenue less pass-through costs.
