New 2026 Toyota Hilux: A CGI Preview from Thailand

Toyota is currently testing the new generation Hilux, and as expected, the rugged vehicle has inspired various digital renderings. While some illustrations closely resemble the anticipated design, others diverge significantly, sharing only the pickup body style. Recently, Digimods Design shared a modern and attractive virtual version on YouTube.

According to Auto Evolution, the front fascia unmistakably identifies it as a Toyota, featuring a split headlamp design with the larger clusters flanking a prominent grille. Above, a smaller grille is bordered by daytime running lights (DRLs) that include turn signals. The central air intake is wide, and the vehicle's nose sports the familiar corporate badge.

Muscular lines define the hood and front fenders, while the rear quarter panels maintain the robust aesthetic typical of pickup trucks. The design includes black cladding on the wheel arches and side steps for easier access. At the rear, the tailgate is streamlined, with vertical taillights and a standard bumper that accommodates a license plate holder. The rendering artist also showcased the Hilux in various colors, including black, white, gray, red, and blue.

Recently spotted in Thailand, the prototype resembles a major facelift rather than a completely new model, yet it is entirely revamped. Reports suggest it will utilize an updated version of the existing ladder-frame platform, with enhancements to the steering, brakes, and suspension.

Power options will likely include several gasoline and diesel engines, varying by market, with a battery-electric version planned for production in Thailand by year-end. Internal combustion engine (ICE) variants are expected to debut in the latter half of the year, competing against rivals like the Isuzu D-Max, Kia Tasman, and VW Amarok. However, a U.S. introduction seems unlikely.

As the Hilux continues to evolve, it aims to appeal to both traditional pickup buyers and those seeking modern features. Toyota is focusing on efficiency and performance enhancements to stay competitive in the segment. Enthusiasts will be keen to see how the final production model compares to these exciting renderings.
