20 years after his latest participation to Cannes Festival, Kevin Costner is set to come back this year.

.Actor-director Kevin Costner who is coming back this year to Cannes Festival, will be presenting the first installment of "Horizon, An American Saga," a world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, about the conquest of the American West.

Kevin Costner, who is returning to the festiva after an absence of twenty years, explains: "I waited for the right moment to come back, and I am proud to say that moment has arrived."

"Horizon, An American Saga is a story that began 35 years ago, and I couldn't dream of a better place than the Cannes Film Festival to reveal to the world the result of such a beautiful adventure," commented the actor and director, as quoted in a statement.

"Horizon, An American Saga" is described by festival organizers as "an ambitious project about the wars and violence that cost the construction and expansion of the United States of America."

Starring Kevin Costner himself, along with Sienna Miller (American-British actress, stylist, and model), Sam Worthington (best known for his role as Jake Sully in the "Avatar" film series), and Jena Malone (notably seen in "Hunger Games"), it will consist of four episodes released over several months.

It is worth noting that the 69-year-old actor and director has already tried his hand at the western genre with the classic "Dances with Wolves," released in 1990, in which he played a Civil War soldier close to a Sioux tribe. The film won 7 Oscars, including Best Picture.

As for this new saga, the story takes place about fifteen years before and after the Civil War, during the Westward expansion, fraught with challenges including natural elements, interactions with the indigenous peoples who lived on these lands, and the ruthless determination of individuals seeking to colonize them.
