ChatGPT Voice feature is now accessible to all users of the program, free

Last September, OpenAI launched a new "voice" version of ChatGPT, called ChatGPT Voice.

By pressing a simple button, the user could submit an oral request to the AI, which would analyze it, convert it to text before performing the desired search, and then respond orally in turn. Unfortunately, this feature was reserved for ChatGPT Plus subscribers, the paid version of the program. It is now available to everyone!

Indeed, the ChatGPT Voice feature is now accessible to all users of the program. As was the case before, ChatGPT Voice offers a choice of five different voices, to be selected by the user, including both male and female voices.

The feature is currently being rolled out to all users who have installed the mobile application on their smartphones. Note that some users report having to uninstall the application before redownloading it from the AppStore or Play Store to benefit from the update.

Similar to Google Assistant or Apple Siri, ChatGPT Voice functions as a voice assistant. It can understand the user's spoken words before providing responses that are both logical and perfectly suited to the context, just like the text version.

Furthermore, as with the text version, it is possible to ask (almost) anything of the Voice version of ChatGPT © Open AI. It is important to note that this Voice feature is available only within the ChatGPT application and is activated by clicking on the headphone icon at the bottom of the screen. From there, users can interact with the AI without touching the screen, and the system will automatically detect the spoken language. The application also records the voice transcription of the exchanges.

Compared to a traditional voice assistant, it's worth noting that ChatGPT Voice undoubtedly leverages the full potential of "made in OpenAI" AI.
