Omid Scobie Releases "Endgame," a Book That Criticizes the British Royal Family

Journalist Omid Scobie, known for being close to Meghan and Harry, is publishing a book at the end of November that does not spare the British royal family or the monarchy.

The book even has a title worthy of a Marvel movie and is a new blow to the British monarchy. "Endgame" (published by HarperCollins) is the latest jab from Meghan and Harry at the royal family.

Written by journalist Omid Scobie, known for being close to the couple who have settled in Montecito, the book, to be released on November 28, spares no one within the royal family.

The book describes the British monarchy as an aging and crisis-ridden institution, and Charles as an unpopular king among young people who are animated by republican sentiments.

“To remain relevant, the system, in a Trumpian approach, relies on patriotism - or even chauvinism - to consolidate its position,” Scobie said in the Times.

“Rather than facing the challenges of modern times, whether it be diversity or other social issues, the institution constantly turns away from them and relies on respect for the values of the past.”

The biographer paints a portrait of Charles as a king who needs help, whose shoelaces need to be tied, and who “likes someone to press exactly one centimeter of toothpaste onto his toothbrush before going to bed.” These are details that Paul Burrel, Diana's former butler, had already provided, BFMTV recalls.

Charles is also described as “an imperfect father and a philandering husband who destroyed the life of Princess Diana.” Worse, he appears to be a Prince of Wales who is unprepared for the role of king.

Prince William is also criticized in the book, and described as “eager to be king,” and “very comfortable with the palace dirty tricks and the courtiers who imagine them.” According to the author, he would have done a lot in the shadows to harm his brother through the press.

The British press has received this book with a certain skepticism. “Omid Scobie's new book, "Endgame," takes on all members of the royal family, except for a certain couple in California,” writes the Times, which met with the author. “Is there nothing sacred?” asks the Mirror, claiming that the book reveals details about the queen's death. And the Daily Mail focuses on the “cruel attack” on Kate Middleton.

It should be noted that the royal biographer has already published a book about Meghan and Harry, entitled "Finding Freedom," published in France under the title "Harry and Meghan, Free," and co-written with American journalist Carolyn Durand. They told the story behind the departure of Harry and Meghan for the United States and described the rift between William and Harry.
